ABOUT SAMMY'S CAROL

Sammy’s Carol is about an African-American man named Samuel M. Wade, Jr. who shares his story of how Christmas became a special “anniversary” where he learned important lessons regarding manhood, dignity and pride.  As a teenager he was conflicted about his use of the N-word and how it affected his relationship with his peers, but through the guidance of a few caring “visitors” on a snowy Christmas Eve in 1997, Samuel was challenged to re-examine his life in order to gain a new perspective on what it means to be young, gifted and black.      

Inspired by A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, Sammy’s Carol is a work of fiction by David T. Boyd.

We are proud to announce that the Barnes and Noble Nook and Amazon Kindle versions of Falling Down and Mystery, Malevolence & Murder - Collected Stories: Volume One are up and running!  So much went into these projects and we would especially like to thank editor Rolf Wolff and graphic artist David P. Schafer for their hard work.  Without them we wouldn't have met our deadlines ON TIME!  Thank you, gentlemen!

The formatting for the paperback versions is near completion.  We are targeting late June/early July for their release.

Official Launch Date! Mark You Calendars!

We are very proud to announce that this coming May 19th will be the official launch date for our first two publications: "Falling Down" (a novella) and "Mystery, Malevolence & Murder" (a collection of short stories).  Both books will be available for sale through iPhone/iPod Touch, Barnes and Noble Nook, Kindle and Sony Reader, as well as traditional paperback copy.  Also, be on the lookout for our book trailers and welcome announcement, all of which will appear on our YouTube page.  More details to follow.

Almost there!

Another Shore Press, LLC is nearing completion with our first projects.  Thanks to graphic artist David P. Schafer and editor Rolf Wolff we are putting the final touches on Falling Down and Mystery, Malevolence & Murder, Volume One - both written by David T. Boyd.  We anticipate the books will be available for sale by mid-April.  They will be available to read in print and eBook formats (Kindle, Nook, iPad, iPhone, etc.), so you won't have any trouble accessing them.  We're also working out a distribution deal so they can be purchased online through Amazon.com.  As we get closer to our target dates we'll also put together a pair of infomercials about both books as well.    

Stay tuned!  There's a lot more to come.

AWP Conference 2011

Another Shore Press, LLC attended the AWP Conference held in Washington, DC this past weekend.  There were dozens of seminars, readings and talks by agents, writers and publishers.  The opportunities for networking were plentiful.  There were several MFA programs in attendance who had the opportunity to speak to prospective students interested in writing.  There were also late night readings and poetry slams at different coffee houses across the District.  If you've never been to one of these events before, you really are missing out - so be sure to attend next year's conference in Chicago, Illinois (February 29-March 3) at the Hilton Chicago and the Palmer House.  Another Shore Press, LLC will be in negotiations to be an exhibitor of our books and sponsoring other events that weekend in the Windy City.  More details to follow.
